Mailbox for Delirium.
endlessdel: ([PB]Stronger than you)
The world did not feel right, Sol fell beneath the Moon and turned and tossed. The boat felt uneven and troublesome on calm seas. She dreamed of her brother falling and falling and falling. Waves of unpleasantness and sticky things rolling onto the shore before crashing over. Sheep endless spinning sheep on a spinning spinning-

Waking up with a start, she pressed her hand against Robb's chest and half wiggling-half falling out of bed. Nimble, pale, hands grabbing the emergency bucket she had tucked beneath the bed after the second-third-fourth-fifth day of this awful stomach ickyness and ran towards the bathroom. Her feet carried her much quicker this time and she even made it before she was sick again. It looked very pretty, all pretty colours of last night's dinner but it made her feel awful.

"If I sing nicely will you shush now tummy, shush." Delirium muttered, shivering a little. She wished it would go away, sometimes she felt better but not until very late and then it would start all over again. Again and again.
endlessdel: ([PB]Stronger than you)
The world was a strange and cruel place and only after time a mostly of experience did it make any sense. Or mostly sense, when you were the personification of insanity the things that made no sense made perfect sense and the things that supposedly made sense were complete nonsense. To Delirium being happy in mind surely meant being happy in body but apparently not her stomach kept rioting inside of her. Little goldfishes swimming about and making her feel sick or made her be sick and it hadn't stopped for hours.

Curling up in bed, a burrito of Deliriumness, made her feel better and she had mostly journeyed through her brother's realm. Until it was time to wake up and cook food, not that she mistrusted Robb's cooking and would eat it happily but everyone else seemed to think burnt or uncooked was not peachy. Wiggling out of bed, she tried dress after dress but everything was too tight or just made her mind all squirmy until she finally gave in and wore one of Robb's shirt (all loose and peachy) and a pair of leggings. Much peachier.

Yawning, she rubbed her stomach thoughtfully as she wandered through Summerfell. Eyes alighting on Bran, she smiled tiredly and dropped her hands onto the top of his head. And ran her fingers through his hair.

"Do not worry Bran Stark, I will not let you starve or eat Robb's cooking." Del said, wrinkling her nose as she wandered about. "Do you want to help? Everything still feels-" She wiggled her hands about as if that made perfect sense. "-we can make curry or oh burritos. Maybe curry. Have you eaten that before?"
endlessdel: ([PB]Pleased Del)
"One... two... two... two..." Del turned in a circle, spinning around as she counted one-two children but not a third. Stopping as she spun, she fell down in a heap of skirts and flowers and laughed as she caught one then two children and gathered them up in her arms. Kissing the twins on both cheeks, she looked dizzily around the outside of Summerfell. "Where's Reynald?"

Del tortured her children with tickling and kisses but still they did not tell on where Reynald was. Letting the twins go, she kissed them both before struggling as she tried to get back up.

"I cannot get up I am too dizzy," Del said, lying flat on her back as she laughed. It was even harder to get up when she couldn't stop laughing, her little legs kicking back and forth like an overturned turtle. Waving her arms in the air, she let out a pitiful call for Robb. "Robb! I can't get up!"
endlessdel: ([PB]Grass staring)
Tiny fingers clung to a t-shirt several sizes to big. A hand smaller, more feminine curled and tugged at a hole in the Ramones writing. Whilst a masculine, small and tiny, held a sleeve. Like a security blanket.

It was the noise that woke her that morning, not the twins. The crashing noise from the rooms above that made her jump out of her skin. The noise coming from her old rooms or her pirates room at the very top of the treehouse. Two whole floors above her of noise, pure noise.

Kissing the tops of the twins heads, she uncurled fists from her t-shirt and wriggled out from between them. Poking her head out of her room, she padded quietly upstairs and stared at the small child she met halfway up.

"hELLo," Delirium murmured confused and still half in her brother's realm. She looked at the boy and smiled before opening her arms. She would know that tiny face anywhere. "Hello Bran Stark."
endlessdel: (Default)
The twins had made their lists for Nick (once he escaped from the evil clutches of the elves and delivered his presents) and so had Del but she still did not know what to get Robb Stark this year. She did not know what you got mortal men that you loved for the holidays, perhaps she should get him 'Something for that Someone Special' like the window had advertised. But Del didn't understand why Robb Stark would want to wear white fluffy edged red underwear. Maybe it was a strange mortal custom.

Putting the twins 'To Santa' list up on the board in the parlour, Del sat on one of the stools and counted to a hundred as she covered her eyes. Listening to the twins giggle and run out of sight, Del span around on the stool faster and faster until she was dizzy. As she reached zero, she stood up stumbling a little before she ran into someone.

"Sorrysorry, we're playing hide and sneak." Del said smiling.
endlessdel: ([PB]Pretty)
She hesitated, fingertips twisting at the hem of the long sleeves covering her arms. Fidgeting, she tucked herself behind a tree sighing at the unfamiliar and unpleasant sensation in her stomach. Twisting and fluttery and despairing but happy too. She clutched the box to her chest, hugging it tightly as she glanced down and stared at bare, chubby feet. Looking up Del smiled vaguely at her older sister blowing a kiss towards her.

You are nervous Sister, that is all. Stop treading into my realm or I will keep you here.

She nodded, squirming in the formal dress before she ignored the fluttery, despairing feeling and her sister before she creeped around the tree. Wandering down the path, she tugged the hem of her dress up as she skipped from place to place. It was the sight of an unknown boy that made her slow down. And she stopped suddenly, freezing in place with wide eyes before she lifted her fingers and wriggled them in greeting.

Sucking in her breath, she smiled and took a step closer trying not to fidget in the dress.

"Hi," Del said smiling as she tugged the box to her chest, hugging it close. Ignoring the way her sister, nottherenotthere, brushed a kiss against her ear. "Hello."

The morning air was cool, sweet as she waited for him. Robb. A soft smile lit her face as she shivered in the breeze. Drawing his borrowed, stolen... Robb's shirt tighter around her body, around her shoulders, she took a step closer to the sea and to the friend that was slowly waking. Her hand and gaze tilting upwards as she stared at her beloved friend, Sol.

Whispering a soft prayer, closing her eyes in the old forgotten magic, she took a step further into the water and let the water wash over her. Almost forgetting where or who she was. She was Delirium, Delight, Del. Tempus Frangit. Time had changed her, time had broken her but now she was older and now she was stronger. Because of her cage, because of him, because of everything that had happened. She was stronger, she didn't need to hold onto the old hurt anymore.

"It's okay, it's okay now..." Del whispered, letting her fingertips brush the water before she opened her eyes. Head turning and smile lighting up her face as her mismatched eyes caught sight of the man who made her stronger, who made her weaker. The man that she loved. Wading back in, she moved up the beach quickly before coming to a sudden stop in front of him. "Good morning Robb Stark."

Leaning up onto her tiptoes, Del went to kiss him before turning her head and brushing her lips against his cheek. "Good morning Robb."

442... 443... 3.141592... 84... 64... how many sheeps could a sheep chuck sheep if a sheep sheep could chuck sheep...

There were times when sleep evaded Delirium of the Endless. She would wait staring at the ceiling, at her pillow, at a collection of freckles on Robb's skin... waiting until her brother would let her eyes fall shut and allow her entrance into his realm. Sometimes it would take minutes and she would sleep, curled up in a small ball beside Robb Stark and other times it would take hours and she would count sheep or ships or sometimes just the freckles on his body. Tonight, she was counting sheep.

999 fluffy little nightmares with razor sharp teeth and their baa-ing... 474... 1,000,001...

Robb was asleep, his eyes closed, beside her. He was different when he slept; younger, more relaxed, beautiful instead of handsome, hers. He felt like hers when he was asleep. Sometimes she could curl up against him, her hand on his shoulder and her head pressed against his chest. Safe. She doesn't feel scared then, she feels safe and whole lying there with him. She hasn't told him that, Helen says she should.

22... 1/8... 9... 723... where is Big Puppy in sheep clothing...

He doesn't stir when she brushes her cold toes against his legs or slides her hand up his chest. Del waits before leaning in close, Safesafesafe, and whispers four words into his ear. Pulling back, she looks at him with wide mismatched eyes before letting out a soft eeeep. Rolling over she hides behind her hair, burying herself beneath the blankets where he cannot see her.

678... 85,498... 1...

The four words, the words she had whispered, were a simple I love you Robb.

There was something about a surprise that Delirium enjoyed more than anything else in the world. She wasn't sure if it was the mixture of the good and the bad or the anticipation and the dread but Delirium savoured the feeling of joy and delight and horror and panic. Today was supposed to be a surprise, a date of surprises with Robb Stark who made her feel different. She hadn't meant to talk to him or like him or love him but she did and she certainly hadn't meant for him to talk back or like her or want to take her out on dates but he did. He had surprised her, agreeing with her for a date, he had snuck up on her- Sneaky Stark- but she didn't mind. She didn't mind at all.

"How do I look?" Del asked, twisting her fingers into her dress. She had dressed simply for him in a dress made of stormy blues and wintery grey layers. Her hair was tied loosely but neatly, spilling multi-coloured curls down her back. And she wore her family's symbols around her neck. She looked strangely beautiful. And Barnabas didn't mind telling her that with a bark. "Thank you Barnabas, you should go. I'll be okay, Robb Stark will look after me."

Barnabas barked, sharper as if to indicte he had better. Del smiled, patting her guardian before slipping the rope off her wrist and watching him as he left her. Sitting, Del bit her lip and waited for Robb. He would be here soon and then he could start surprising her all over again.
endlessdel: ([PB]Up to no good)
Sometimes Delirium had good days. Sometimes she had bad days. On the bad days she would find ways to amuse herself. She would distance herself from the children. She would take time away and she would be herself. She would be Insanity. Usually on those days she would just taunt Danica or play by herself or make insane ice cream. But not today. Today, Delirium had something else in mind.

Suits. Ess-you-eye-tea-ess. And in particular stuffy, sexy, slinky suits. Suits with lots of S words to describe them. Suits with style. Suits that belonged to one Stephen Colbert.

It wasn't that she didn't like Stephen's suits. She did. However she liked Stephen's suits a lot more when they were not on him and when he was in fact naked like he was supposed to be. But there was another S word that stopped him, the one Lucy invented which meant everyone felt awkward naked- Shame. Humans felt Shame when naked. And she didn't think Stephen had anything to be ashamed about. She wanted him to be happy and more importantly she wanted to have fun.

And if that meant making him take off his clothes then that was what she would do.

Obtaining the items in question wasn't hard. In fact all it took was two trips downstairs to the basement when she checked on the twins sleeping beside Asher's bed and making sure she hid the evidence out of sight when anyone came close. Now that she had the suits, all she had to do was leave the note when she took the twins upstairs.

The note simply read:

wE HaVE yOUR suITS bRing US ONe UniCOrn, tHe HaiR fROM the HEAD OF an iSLAND breAKFAST cHEF, tWO pinEAppLES And A ChOCOLate CAKe. OR THE SUITS GET IT.

Delirium was annoyed and irritated and she didn't know why. She'd patted Barnabas, she'd read to the twins, she'd drank and she'd relaxed but she was just so... pissed off! She didn't even feel like sitting on Lance's lap. Squirming in the chair for the full session, Delirium irritably answered the majority of his questions and tried not to be driven to distraction at the state of the Compound. She just wanted everything nice and clean and tidy and ordered. Even she couldn't see the patterns within the chaos right now, it was just mess- disorganised, chaotic, filthy mess. And no one understood. No one understood her anyway but it was just more annoying than usual.

Muttering something about pillows not hugging her properly to Sweets, Del squirmed and sighed as their time finished. She was even annoyed with him which was unusual. She liked him, liked pushing him and seeing how far it would take to make him break into little pieces but today he was just annoying. Everything was annoying. She'd banished Barnabas and Cerberus to stay with Asher for the day because she was that irritated.

She felt like Desire when he-she-it did not get his-her-its way. And it was stupid because they were all trying so hard to please her but she found even that annoying.

Waddling towards the lift, Delirium stopped suddenly making a half pained- half annoyed sound in her throat. Bending over, she panted irritably before taking off her jumper. She was too hot, too tired, too everything and no one was helping her. And now she had to wait for the stupid lift.

"wiLL thiS DAy NevER eND?" Delirium snapped before laughing to herself. Endless days and a member of the Endless bemoaning them. That was actually quite funny. Capital letters Funny.

From the 'between the lines' meme:

'What this meme is all about is expanding on that, to better create a personal history that you can then use to better build personal development. To paraphrase Lindsay, "it's not intended to be a way of avoiding/handwaving actual threads but rather a way of kickstarting them and getting a better idea of where our characters stand with each other. It's a small island, and it's likely that a lot of our pups have interacted, maybe in little ways." The details can be silly or trivial (They see each other at breakfast everyday), or a shared anecdote (Remember that time when they got attacked by the angry parrot?), or the seeds of a bigger plot to be played out later.'
endlessdel: (Delirium-pregnant belly)
In her entire lifetime, both human and non-human, Delirium could not recall ever feeling this nervous. Not even on her wedding day had she felt this nervous, she'd simply felt happy and joyful. It was only later that she had felt vengeful and hurt and everything went inside-out wrongways round until she was no longer herself and had become something else entirely. But today, today of all days she felt nervous.

It was not a feeling that she had recognised at first; the fluttering feeling in her stomach, the faint tightness in her chest and the unending worry that she had felt since it had really, really dawned on her that she was carrying a life inside her. It wasn't as if today was special or different, she was just going to have a picture taken of the bump that was all. She was just going to listen to the bunsquid, just to hear it- oh barnabas, she felt sick.

Biting on her fingernails, Delirium looked up at the approaching footsteps and made a face at Asher. Why couldn't Asher have his stomach scanned instead? That would be nice and then she wouldn't have to worry so much.

"i FEEL sQUirmy, bad squiRMY not goOD squirmY squishy." Delirium told him promptly, rubbing her hands and bitten nails over her stomach.

When he had gone to sleep the night before, he'd been thinking about Ginger. About the body. About what she had been before she was a body.

When he woke up, Ginger was standing right over him, silent, with a hole in her head. He didn't breathe - blinked and she was gone - it must have been a remnant of his subconscious, leftover from a dream he couldn't remember; one of those weird human things. But something else was wrong. Nearly everything else. He'd changed before, and he could recognize subtle shifts in his body.

This wasn't subtle.

It wasn't even his body. It was a naked, very female one, with raw, recent knife scars on the wrist -- and he knew precisely who it belonged to.

He just wasn't sure what he was doing inside it. He couldn't change form - that was a very liquid metal specific function. Besides, he definitely wasn't in the IPD office anymore. The chaos level was similar but there was no paperwork, only… art?

And no Sarah. Instead, a pair of dogs was watching him.

He sat up, slowly adjusting to the new parameters, trying to recall the dogs' names. The one with the keys seemed fairly oblivious to the situation - in fact, he seemed fairly insistent on licking him - but the German shepherd was looking at him in a very intent, very intelligent way.

Dogs had always been efficient terminator detectors.

"BaRNaBas, wHY Am I iN DeL's bOdy?" he frowned. He had her voice, too. There had always been an odd quality to it that he couldn't quite interpret or even grasp, and now he was producing it.

Barnabas gave a single bark in response. Even if he knew, he had no method of sharing the information. Dogs rarely communicated in human language. Unless they were in a Disney movie, like the strange one with the talking lions.

This wasn't a Disney movie. And there were people in the room, silent people like Ginger, but he didn't know them. After a moment of consideration he concluded that they didn't exist - not tangibly here - but were imprinted in Del's mind somehow.

He was dressed and outside a few minutes later, with a cone of ice cream in his hand and Barnabas following him quietly, probably to watch over his owner's body.

This was not good. The T-1000 was under psych observation already. And there was an investigation going on, a killer on the loose. Becoming the anthropomorphic representation of insanity was not a smart plan.

He needed Reese.

endlessdel: (Delirium-wibble)
Delirium had almost believed them when they told her it would get better, when they told her that it was just part of being human- but everyday it got worse, everyday she forgot a little bit more. When she looked at her doggies she struggled to remember their names or where she was until she remembered and when she remembered it felt worse, like she had been hurt all over again.

She felt too tired to get up. She didn’t want to eat or drink and when they saw her they made her eat or drink and then they left her again and she was alone. Jack had told her to push them away but that hadn’t helped, pretending hadn’t helped either and nothing made it better. It just hurt, hurt all over until she could barely breathe or think about anything else but leaving it all behind.

Delirium had found the bottle sometime in the night and she had drunk it all. It had made her feel better for a while, it had made her forget but in the morning she remembered it all. She remembered his soft hands on her face, the way he kissed her and held her. The way that he had loved her. She felt sick.

Delirium ran into the bathroom, retching into the sink, tears streaming down her face. The shock of her pale face in the mirror startled her and she stared, stared past the mirror at her sister. Her sisters. Desire wasn't happy just playing with Dream's life she had to interfere in hers. She could almost hear them- their cruel laughter. "I hate you, I hate you!" Delirium said throwing the bottle at the mirror, smashing the bottle into pieces.

Delirium stared at the broken shards of the bottle and laughed hysterically. Each edge broken and jagged; left empty and alone with no purpose. Just like her. Delirium picked up a large piece of the glass, ignoring it biting into her fingertips causing red trickles to run down her hands. Blood red, like her hair. Delirium stared at it unknowingly, blinking back tears as they ran down her face.

Delirium placed the shard into the sink and drew an unsteady swirl onto the mirror in her blood. Delirium heard Barnabas's barks and picked up the shard, rushing to the door and pushing her weight against it. "It's okay Barnabas, I'm going home. I'm ready now," Delirium said, her breath coming in short breaths as she leaned against the door. Barnabas threw his weight against the door, howling at her.

Sobbing Delirium took the shard of glass and ran it down her wrists, watching the blood rush to the surface. She attempted to try the other one but found herself unable; Delirium lay down in front of the door beginning to feel tired. Delirium felt her weight shift as the door pushed open and someone began to try to help her. Delirium closed her eyes and smiled at the sound of wings.

"Hello sister," Delirium whispered happily.
