He could hear a woman's voice calling as he approached, and knew he was going to find exactly whom he was looking for. He had remained in the formality of his uniform. As the Captain of a ship for years, it'd been his duty to inform loved ones when their husband or son had not returned to Port Royal with the Dauntless. He'd chosen to do so, but it did get easier.

This especially was completely different. It wasn't about casualty of a sea battle bravely fought, not one he usually had to deal with anyway. Aside from hanging. Pirates did not have family and friends to be consoled and it was a surreal task. At first he had thought Ragetti had simply somehow reinstated the curse at his leisure, and chosen to commit what he had. But he had returned to his human form at midnight, James' sword had disappeared but the wound remained. As he lay dying, he had no clue what had led to this. It had not been his fault and he had not, in the end had not acted maliciously with intent to do so it had been discovered.

But what would he say? Unfortunate accident. That was all that came into his mind and it didn't seem right. He found his way to the treehouse, and saw her there, she turned sharply to face him, and James stood rigidly. "Miss Delirium?" He asked. It had to be her, but .. well he had to be certain didn't he?
