Del caught the book, turning it in her hands before reverently making sure everything was in its place. Books were things she had no part in, books contained universes and the world inside them and she treated them as gentle and as kindly as a newborn. She understood more and less each day she was human. She placed it out of the way of chopping and potential area for messy spicy things.
"Yes, that is the one. There are lots of names for lots of different things that all mean the same thing," Delirium said, wrapping her hands around the cup. It smelled strongly of ginger and fruit, it at least made her tummy feel a little better for a bit. "I do not like Doctors even peachy ones. My mortals call them needlemen, they do not do nice things to them. It is hard to forget that."
There were some Doctors she liked more but she still felt the prickle of her realm in her skin beneath all the happiness. A tiny seed of doubt that the Nee-Doctors meant well. "If it does not stop I will go see one, I promise. Mortal bodies are fragile. Chop them into chunks, the vegetables not the mortal bodies. I think we will do curry. Vegetable curry. No meat to make me feel icky."
