Charles J. Guiteau has syphilitic dementia. His thoughts are jumbled and random, on occasion he has difficulty thinking straight, and he's very flamboyant and eccentric. He also thinks he is spoken to by God, but in truth it's really just the voices in his head telling him things like that he should be the Ambassador to France, that he should shoot and President of the Untied States and etc.

He was one of the first serious cases in American history where an insanity plea was used, but it was dismissed as Charles himself refused to admit to being crazy, and others just didn't want to give him an excuse for his crimes. He was executed by hanging.
